Today was the first day of moving, it was just a light move but enough to have me sitting here typing this with aching bones trying to digest this rubbish called Private Practice, at least scrubs is on next.
The day started unlike the previous day as today was the day that I was able to collect the keys to our new Rental. I was there 5 minutes before the estate agent arrived, luckily I received a phone call to keep me busy. On entering the agency I was welcomed in no way like any other agency has welcomed me, with a Smile. The keys were ready and I was out of there in a few minutes. So straight home to pack the car and start the non stop convoying from house to house. Oh it was so much fun, I did get a break though, to take the car to the Shell Service Station and fill it up ( Oh a big Thanks to Anna Bligh for increasing the price in petrol B*****).
Did I mention I am sore. All part of the moving process that I need to embrace. I have borrowed my Uncle Twins Ute for tomorrow as I start some of the heavy work, with the moving of beds and chairs. Wish me luck.

Oh the joys of dealing with Remax
Well Remax finally realised that we were actually moving out, which meant they had to actually had to do something - like advertise the rental property for new tenants. Hmm what would normally be a good way to go about doing that lets see..... If it was me, not a professional property manager working for a world class (vomit) well known business, I would probably go back through the records to copy the ad that was used to advertise it last time, or maybe even call the owners let them know what was going on and ask them for some details of the property to help rent it out to another tenant. But no, I received a phone call "Hello it's dumbass from Remix and we have just realised that we have no idea what the property you are leasing from us looks like" Okay I said wondering if they were hinting at coming around for an inspection or something. "Would you be able to give us a summary of what's good about the house right now over the phone please" WTF!!! Preparing myself to say "Ring the F***EN owner you silly cow" I bit my tounge realising this could be a bit of fun. "So it is a 3 bedroom isn't it?" Not really I would say it's a 2 bedroom with sunroom (It could easily be advertised as 3 bedder). "There is a garage isn't there" No Garage only a storage area and off street parking. "What about the condition of the bathroom" really poor condition and the kitchen sucks to you silly cow. Anyway after I was put on hold for her to see if they needed anything else it was all over. Left shaking I went and cried in the corner for a few minutes and then did an evil little snicker.
On a brighter note, we took WD40 and Miley out to the new diggs on the weekend, they loved it and enjoyed exploring, and were even more happier when they discoverd the Harry Potter style storage area underneath the internal staircase. After much pleading they convinced me to allow them to use it as their indoor cubby house once we move in. I will be sure to post pics of them locked, I mean playing, in the cupboard once we relocate. Till next time.

We need this BIG house.
I had a number of conversations with the new property managers today that have reaffirmed my initial feelings that they are really easy going, YAY!! The initial thought of this started at the first open for inspection where the agent had no idea about the property "We have just taken on this listing" he said, later we were to find out that they have been managing the property for some time. Another great statement this agent made, which had me looking at him with a confused look on my face, was "For you two the landlord would be willing to have a long lease". Hmm interesting comment consdering he had never met us before, so I tried the ultimate "spot the dodgy estate agent test". Yeap , I slipped him a 20 and a pat on the bum - Baada Bing Baada Boom the place was ours.
Back to my conversations today, I have decided that I want to go back to the place and have another look around, so I contacted the property agent wanting them to meet me there at a time of their convenience, but to my surprise the reply was that I could just come by and pick up the keys anytime I want "just don't move in yet please" hmmmm "Okay" but might have the house warming party a week before we move in.
We now really need this house as today we found out that Ellel is pregnant with twins. Baby A and Baby B as branded by the baby Doctor. I will call them Twin 1 and Twin 2. I'll tell you what, it was as clear as marmalade sitting on the side walk, seeing TWO little trouble makers wriggling around on the ultra sound, I did get a little lite headed.

Today I found myself working on preparing for a new place to live while wrapping up some issues from an old house. Hows that I hear you ask? Well let me take a few lines to let you know. Today I received a call from Detective Obi Won Kanobi of the Slacks Creek CIB (Criminal Investigation Bureau), he was calling to advise that they had caught a "Perp" that they are charging for breaking and entering and stealing from our house back on NYE 1996, yeap thats over 12 years ago. I instantly thought of a young police constable seeing how distressed I was for having my place turned inside, and promising me that he would not leave any stone unturned until he tracked down this animal. Today was his day to shine, well thats if I am remembering the events correctly as it has been over 12 years. so probably not. Anyway the boys in blue have kept at it and found the bloke that robbed us so I need to make a statement sign 3 copies of it and that was that. I am hoping I will receive an invite to the court hearing.
Back onto the prep for the new diggs. A call was made to Optus today, Arghhhhhhh - voice recognition software is such a joy. I wanted to make sure we were under no contracts with our pay TV so I could sign up for Foxtels EOFYS deal, yeap the TV advertising as well as WD40 singing the song everytime the ad comes on has won me over. So 1 out of about 50 calls to Optus has been ticked off the To Do list.
Ellel wrote to our current property managers to let them know that we will not be renewing our lease. I had a draft done up for her to use and it went something like this:
"Dear Remax
You suck suck suck, so we are going going going to a new home home home. Thanks for your continual annoyance and lack of customer service skills blah blah blah ...............................
you can now kiss my stinkhole".
We have many more rivetting tasks to complete this week including chosing a removalist to help with some of the larger furniture that I cannot lift and downloading a Austraila Post redirection form. It's all happening here folks, so stay tuned.

Let it Begin
So it has begun. Today it was time to start the trend for the next few weekends to come - Packing Boxes. First was the trampoline, probably the heaviest box that I will have to move. This thing weighs a hell of a lot. With the help of WD40 and Miley it didn't take as long as expected to dismantle, a lot quicker than it did to construct late on Christmas Eve. It now sits in the garage after some time spent ridding it of some nasty ants that had decided to use the hallow legs to set up camp. I didn't really want to take them along to the new place. Later in the day we packed a couple of boxes inside emptying out a large cupboard that used to belong to one of my old neighbours who passed away from cancer. It is also the cupboard that some of you will know of due to the letter found in it some years later addressed to my departed neighbours daughter Titled "To be opened in the event of my death" Thus led to me tracking down her daughter and forwarding it on. I still to this date wonder what was said in that letter, probably should of taken the advice of some of my friends who were eager to rip into it.
So here are some shots of todays activities.
So whats next I hear you ask?
Maybe the Storage room/garage.

Adios Muchachos - It's A New Home
After months and months of searching we have found a new home to move into and will be leaving our current palace of dreams as seen above, well kind of. The new place has everything we ever wanted, bedrooms with windows, built in robes, two levels, fire place, kitchen, bathrooms and the most important guest bedroom/study. We will soon be able to have friends stay without putting them on the floor only meters from the front door.
The new place can be seen below:

As you can see it is quite the classy abode. Check out all the "Salmon (Pink)" features such as curtains and carpets.
Our lease was accepted this week giving us 4 weeks to pack up over 4 years living and growing in the one place. Ellel has begun the checklists, I have dug out my gardening gloves, which I use for just about anything physical and WD40 with Miley have begun to um, well they are just cruising as per normal.
So stay tuned for the fun, drama and excitement that we all encounter when taking on a massive task such as this. Will it run smoothly? Well if you have ever moved even just a few streets, I am guessing you know what the answer is, but hey! you never know unless you give it a go.
Bye for now.
